Secure Enterprise Messaging

A dedicated communication environment built around verified identity, controlled access and protected information.

Secure Enterprise Messaging is the newest addition to the SMSFlow portfolio in South Africa.

Powered by YEO Messaging technologies, it helps organisations manage business communication that requires stronger control over participants, access and information. End-to-end encryption protects the content, while continuous identity verification provides greater confidence in who is participating.

What is Secure Enterprise Messaging?

Secure Enterprise Messaging is a dedicated environment for protected messaging, voice and video communication between authorised participants.

Unlike communication that relies only on authentication at login, YEO-powered technology is designed to verify participant identity throughout an active session.

This gives organisations another communication option when everyday notifications or customer-engagement channels do not provide the level of identity, access and administrative control required for a particular exchange.

Communication protected by more than encryption

Encryption protects the content of a message while it is being exchanged. Organisations may also need to consider whether the authorised participant remains the person accessing that information.

Secure Enterprise Messaging adds identity assurance to encrypted business communication.

End-to-end encrypted communication

Messages and other supported communications are encrypted between authorised participants.

Continuous identity verification

YEO technology is designed to maintain greater confidence that the authorised participant remains present throughout the session.

On-device biometric processing

Biometric processing takes place locally on the participant’s device rather than relying on a central biometric database.

Verified participant identities

Communication takes place between participants who have been invited and verified within the organisation’s environment.

Administrative oversight

Authorised administrators can manage users, permissions and applicable communication policies while retaining appropriate audit information.

What Secure Enterprise Messaging looks like in practice

Cybersecurity incident coordination

Give security and incident-response teams a separate environment in which to discuss findings and coordinate actions when other systems may be affected.

Confidential customer and client matters

Support communication involving personal, financial, legal or commercially restricted information where access should be limited to specific participants.

Executive and board communication

Separate discussions involving strategy, financial planning, intellectual property, acquisitions or restructuring from general workplace communication.

Employee and HR matters

Provide authorised HR and leadership teams with a dedicated environment for internal investigations, disciplinary procedures and other restricted employee matters.

Regulated and high-accountability environments

Support organisations that require greater oversight of participant identity, information access and communication records.
Secure Enterprise Messaging can form part of a wider information-security and governance framework. It does not guarantee compliance or replace an organisation’s legal, security and records-management responsibilities.

Designed for organisational control

Secure Enterprise Messaging gives organisations greater control over how protected communication is introduced and managed.
Depending on the selected implementation, this can include:
Managed participant onboarding
User and permission administration
Communication between verified participants
Identity verification throughout active sessions
Policy and access management
Audit and administrative functions
Support for messaging, voice and video communication
Deployment aligned with the organisation’s requirements

Final functionality and implementation scope should be confirmed during the solution-design process.

Deployment options

Organisations have different technical and operational requirements. Secure Enterprise Messaging can be considered as a dedicated business environment or through an integration approach using YEO technology.

YEO for Business

A dedicated secure communication environment for organisations and teams requiring verified identities and central administration.

YEO Messaging SDK

An integration option for organisations that want to introduce YEO-powered secure communication within an existing web or mobile application.
SMSFlow can help determine which approach is more appropriate for the intended users, systems and communication requirements.

One provider, three communication options

Secure Enterprise Messaging does not replace the other SMSFlow solutions. It fulfils a different role within the portfolio.

Bulk SMS

For direct reach across alerts, reminders, confirmations, campaigns and service updates.

WhatsApp for Business

For richer, two-way customer engagement across sales, support and service conversations.

Secure Enterprise Messaging

For protected business communication requiring stronger participant identity, access and administrative oversight.
Each solution is available independently. Organisations can adopt the option that meets their current needs and expand through SMSFlow when those needs change.

Optional add-on: Continuous Facial Recognition with Liveness

Organisations may also need to strengthen identity assurance within applications beyond the Secure Enterprise Messaging environment.

Continuous Facial Recognition with Liveness, powered by the YEO Continuous Facial Recognition SDK, is available as an optional add-on for suitable use cases.

It is designed to extend identity assurance beyond login by helping an application verify that the authorised user remains present during an active session.

This add-on is separate from the core Secure Enterprise Messaging offering. It complements existing identity verification, multi-factor authentication, access management and fraud controls rather than replacing them.

Is Secure Enterprise Messaging right for your organisation?

Consider the solution if your organisation needs to:
Restrict communication to verified participants
Separate protected exchanges from general messaging
Strengthen identity assurance beyond login
Manage user access centrally
Maintain appropriate administrative and audit oversight
Communicate during cybersecurity or operational incidents
Support teams working with restricted information
The appropriate solution depends on the communication purpose, participants, internal policies and required controls.
